Back in March, we announced that Art Blocks Curated would be taking a new direction. Our renewed aim is to bridge the gap between algorithmic art and the physical world by meeting collectors and artists where they are today — we want to show how generative art can produce objects to live with and to love, demonstrating that traditional methods of art and design are not at odds with technical innovation. They can, in fact, unite into an exquisite balance, of which mpkoz’s Bokeh is a perfect embodiment. Though Michael Kozlowski’s (mpkoz’s) artistic practice has long explored the landscape of digital media and its interaction with human perception, Bokeh brings the dialog into a physical, even performative, realm. Bokeh will mark the first time Art Blocks has produced multiple forms of physical and digital art associated with a single artist-designed algorithm. The collection will be released in stages from October 16-23, 2024 and will be exhibited at the Art Blocks Gallery in Marfa, TX in November, 2024.

UFO has made a great leap forwards with the launch of our radio station. We have a brand new website and exciting things are in development. Living our radio dreams at last. We are also thrilled to announce a new collaboration with Livepeer, a protocol that provides open infrastructure for live streaming video, who awarded UFO a Video Disrupter Grant which is supporting development of what might be the first onchain radio station. We aim to make it easier to build radio on Livepeer and will be publishing our findings.

In the coming weeks, Warpcast will be improving channels in two important ways: memberships & channel feeds. Channel Memberships: - We’re launching channel membership to help moderate channels. - Channels now require membership to cast or reply — you must be invited to be a member. - Channels are still public to read — anyone can follow the conversation in a channel. - Channel moderators can add and remove members to better curate their channels. - We are also giving channel owners the ability to add up to 10 moderators. Channel Feeds: - We’re simplifying channel feeds — there’s now only one feed with casts from all members. - The feed is reverse chronological — when a member casts, it will appear at the top. - Moderators can now also selectively hide specific casts and replies from the channel. - No other spam filtering will apply in the channel. If someone is spammy, hide their cast, and if they continue to be spammy, remove them as a member.

Base is for everyone — and this fall, we’re going global by meeting with builders around the world. We’ll start with a series of regional buildathons in Africa, India, Southeast Asia, and Latin America. The buildathons will run from September 27 to October 13, with 100 ETH in total prizes.
